Humana is joining a group of America’s top companies in a partnership to promote America’s national parks as the National Parks Service approaches its centennial in 2016.

The Find Your Park Centennial campaign, which launched April 2 in New York City, is a celebration of a milestone anniversary as well as a public awareness and education effort. Find Your Park invites people of all ages to explore and experience natural, cultural and historic treasures throughout the country.

The National Park Service (NPS), the federal agency that manages the parks system as part of the U.S. Department of the Interior, oversees more than 400 National Parks, National Historic Sites, National Monuments and other properties across the country. Congress created the NPS in 1916 to manage parks like Yellowstone, Sequoia and Yosemite, which had been established in the 1800s.

“America’s national parks have long been a place to reunite with nature, enjoy healthy activity or stretch the mind by learning something new,” said Jody Bilney, Humana’s Chief Consumer Officer. “At Humana, we look forward to celebrating and showcasing the many ways our national parks can inspire healthy lifestyles, strengthen body and mind, and promote lifelong well-being.”

The Find Your Park Centennial campaign’s co-chairs are First Lady Michelle Obama and former First Lady Laura Bush. Companies joining Humana in sponsoring the campaign include Coca-Cola, Disney, American Express, REI, Coleman, Accenture and Budweiser.
